Last night, I had a particularly bad dream. It was about my ex-girlfriend. Yes. I had an ex-girlfriend, I do make mistakes. That was before I came to know Christ and I was still seeking love, but in a wrong way. Anyway, I gave part of my heart to her.. Yes I already put down my past to follow Christ, but honestly satan tries his best too you know? Bringing back the past to haunt you, preventing you from moving on.. (evil...)
So basically, I was particularly upset and foul-mooded this morning. Then I just popped in my mp3 to listen in hopes of cheering up listening to nice songs. I have specially selected a couple of songs, like example 'Light of Salvation', 'Hosanna', 'Majesty', 'To Know Your Name', etc..
But there's this particular song which I did not think that it was 'my type' of song. The song is 'Lord of Lords' by Hillsongs. I dunno if you've heard it before but here's the lyrics:
[Lord of Lords]
Verse 1:
Beholding Your beauty
Is all that I long for
To worship You Jesus
Is my sole desire
For this very heart You have shaped for Your pleasure
Purposed to lift Your Name higher
Here in surrender
In pure adoration
I enter Your courts
With an offering of praise
I am Your servant
Come to bring You glory
As is fit for the work of Your hands
Chorus:
Now unto the Lamb
Who sits on the throne
Be glory and honour and praise
All of creation resounds with the song
Worship and praise Him
The Lord of lords
Verse 2:
Spirit now living
And dwelling within me
Keep my eyes fixed
Ever on Jesus' face
Let not the things of this world
Ever sway me
I'll run 'til I finish the race
Bridge:
Holy Lord
You are holy
Jesus Christ Is the Lord
I was amazed at how God could use even a song which wasn't my favourite to even minister to me. The part where it says "Let not the things of this world ever sway me, I'll run 'til I finish the race.." particularly spoke to me.
I realised that I had let the devil succeed in his evil plans. I must not let the things of this world which includes my past ever sway me, instead I must run till I finish the race..
Even as now I'm sharing this, I wanna just say that let us not allow the devil to ruin our future because of our past. Our past is to bring God glory! (NO MORE SHAME!!) Like what Pastor and Sis Wanping always says, when the devil reminds you of your past, remind him of his future:
Revelation 20:10
"And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur,
where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown.
They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever."
