Not so strong after all

Well, what can I say.. Mikko has left. Confused about where I should be. Escaping from my problems but yet not knowing what exactly is the problem..

Tired from running. Gonna face it lyka man! Whatever it is, BRING IT ON!!!

Abandon self.. not about myself, my strength anymore. (sounds so familiar, have I said that before...?)

Abandon pain and suffering.. yea definitely. With pleasure.

Mission Trip (Chengdu) testimony - part of

This mission trip is really an awesome and God led one. At the start of the trip, God encouraged us to trust in Him and not fear. On this trip, we did not do any rallies but instead we shared with the Chinese on a personal level. We want to make friends with them. Not out of duty but sincerely make true friends. We did faced some rejections, but thank God we were not discouraged but we pushed on. Finally God led us to find a guy named Yang Jian on the fourth day. He is very open and we found that we got a lot of things to talk about due to our lack of knowledge of the Chinese culture. And from him we got to know his two other friends, Da Ming and Chen Wei.

We arranged to meet them for lunch the following day. But God had it all planned. When we went for the lunch date, only Yang Jian turned up. We were slightly disappointed but we still went out with him. We asked him to ask another girl along so Theresa can get to know a female friend. He called one of his friends and she really came. So we split out our ways, guys to guy and girl to girl. While shopping with Yang Jian, we wanted to share to him about our faith and about God, but we couldn’t find the chance and did not have courage to create any opportunities. Ultimately it was God who draws and all we have to do is to follow Him. So God gave the opportunity and we grabbed it. Yang Jian asked us about what we do in church. And we immediately shared with him and followed on to tell him about how real God was. I asked him if he believed in miracles and followed on to share with him about the Thailand mission trips about how God healed them. He was so amazed! And then we went to Starbucks for a drink. During that time we shared with him about how to be a Christian. And during dinner, we invited Da Ming along and we bonded even better thanks to Edward’s magic tricks.

And on Sunday, we invited them for a farewell lunch. And we shared with them while eating. They were very receptive and asked us about how we knew God. They are very interested. And currently, we are still in contact with them through msn. And Yang Jian told me that he has started reading his bible which we gave him on Sunday. And Da Ming also told Theresa that he wanted to share Christianity to his friends and asked her how to believe in Jesus.

God is great and He has added to us new friends while serving Him. Thank God!

God gives surprises!!

Hahaha today i showed up in the Kranji Secondary Prayer Meeting. Hehe surprised the kranji people haha especially Serena who shouted "Tan Wee Huat!" Haha! Well gotta wake up SUPER early lah... (..zzZ) Haha anyway as I was thinking of surprising them, little did I know that God was also planning to surprise me! Haha!

Well, after the prayer meeting and the kids went to school, I got this strong feeling that something big is gonna happen today..
But the thing is that I have no plans for the rest of the day.. As the feeling grew stronger, I felt more and more anxious and excited. But I just carried on the day. Window-shop 'Borders', went to the multi-storey carpark to skate and then suddenly....!!

A phone call....

It was..

from my mum..

She ask me if I was free..

I said "yes.." and she said.........

MIKKO is coming home!!!!

YES!!! Praise the LORD!! She is finally coming home!! For those who din know, Mikko was left at a pet hotel and my mum paid for her stay for a month!! But now my dad says bring her home and MUHAHAHAHA she is coming back to me!! MUHAHAHAHAHA!!!

THANK GOD!!!!

Christian Songs can be encouragements too!

Haha! It's true isn't it? I think most of us have experienced this as well. But I just gotta share it, can't assume that everyone thinks like you yes?

Last night, I had a particularly bad dream. It was about my ex-girlfriend. Yes. I had an ex-girlfriend, I do make mistakes. That was before I came to know Christ and I was still seeking love, but in a wrong way. Anyway, I gave part of my heart to her.. Yes I already put down my past to follow Christ, but honestly satan tries his best too you know? Bringing back the past to haunt you, preventing you from moving on.. (evil...)

So basically, I was particularly upset and foul-mooded this morning. Then I just popped in my mp3 to listen in hopes of cheering up listening to nice songs. I have specially selected a couple of songs, like example 'Light of Salvation', 'Hosanna', 'Majesty', 'To Know Your Name', etc..

But there's this particular song which I did not think that it was 'my type' of song. The song is 'Lord of Lords' by Hillsongs. I dunno if you've heard it before but here's the lyrics:

[Lord of Lords]
Verse 1:
Beholding Your beauty
Is all that I long for
To worship You Jesus
Is my sole desire
For this very heart You have shaped for Your pleasure
Purposed to lift Your Name higher
Here in surrender
In pure adoration
I enter Your courts
With an offering of praise
I am Your servant
Come to bring You glory
As is fit for the work of Your hands
Chorus:
Now unto the Lamb
Who sits on the throne
Be glory and honour and praise
All of creation resounds with the song
Worship and praise Him
The Lord of lords
Verse 2:
Spirit now living
And dwelling within me
Keep my eyes fixed
Ever on Jesus' face
Let not the things of this world
Ever sway me
I'll run 'til I finish the race
Bridge:
Holy Lord
You are holy
Jesus Christ Is the Lord
I was amazed at how God could use even a song which wasn't my favourite to even minister to me. The part where it says "Let not the things of this world ever sway me, I'll run 'til I finish the race.." particularly spoke to me.
I realised that I had let the devil succeed in his evil plans. I must not let the things of this world which includes my past ever sway me, instead I must run till I finish the race..
Even as now I'm sharing this, I wanna just say that let us not allow the devil to ruin our future because of our past. Our past is to bring God glory! (NO MORE SHAME!!) Like what Pastor and Sis Wanping always says, when the devil reminds you of your past, remind him of his future:
Revelation 20:10
"And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur,
where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown.
They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever."

Enemies or not?

"When a man's ways are pleasing to the LORD, he makes even his enemies live at peace with him." - Proverbs 16:7

I was reading this the other day and I found that it was SO TRUE!!
Just a bit of background, I have this classmate of mine whom I found a little different. His topics were usually quite opposites to my beliefs, and at times he would just drag me into those topics and kind of made me very embarrassed. And I didn't really enjoy being around him. (Just a note, enemies do not necessary mean that they have a hatred against you.)

And even as I was reading this verse, God spoke to me. It was kind of like a challenge to me to live my life pleasing to Him.

Needless to say, I accepted His challenge (sometimes I really don't think and just accept challenges..kinda dumb haha, but God won't harm me mah), and I allowed corrections into my life, got even more prayerful, accept my classmate for who he was, etc..

And now what really shocked me was that my classmate, not knowing why, stopped all the nonsense talks (like talk about clubbing, etc.) and he even treated me differently, not embarrassing me and we even have a common topic to talk about!

It's really amazing that sometimes God CAN really turn things around! And it is not like He gave us a change of heart, He honors His promise to us of our freedom of choice. He literally does miracles in our lives!

Just wanna challenge you guys, like in Proverbs 16:7. Live a life pleasing to God and literally see the number of enemies reduce and reduce and reduce to zero.... Hahaha!!!
